The perfect central location for all adventures
1 April 2018
Okay, so week on week we showcase many of the great things you can get up to in and around our Dash Apartments. This week we’re going to tell you about how we make the best central location to some of the best adventures. From high teas, to sea predators to meeting the big 5, Kwazulu- Natal is definitely not exclusively for sunbathing and relaxing on the beach. So if you’re here for a while, here are some of our favourite adventures to do outside of Ballito!
(1) Moses Mabhida Stadium
Visit Moses Mabhida Stadium’s, ride the sky car and look at Durban from a new perspective. The Sky Car is a steel cabin that runs up the tracks of the stadium’s arch, allowing you a 106m vantage point to look over the beautiful city of Durban! If you’re looking for more of a thrill, there is also the Big Swing Ride. The tallest swing in the world! This entails jumping into the 106m void above the stadium and swinging out in a 220m curve below the worldrenowned Stadium arch.
(2) High Tea at The Oyster Box
If the adrenaline isn’t for you, why not treat yourself to a fabulous afternoon with high tea on the balcony at the famous Oyster Box hotel. At the High Tea, you can expect to indulge in an assortment of cakes and savoury treats. Oh and be sure not to get a snap with Durban’s fluffiest celebrity, Skabenga.
(3) Ushaka Marine World
If you’ve got kiddies, A must-do when visiting the North Coast is Ushaka Marine World. Ushaka offers a range of activities to suit a variety of tastes and preferences. It is the 5th largest aquarium in the world and has dolphin, seal and penguin shows available as well as an extensive choice of sea life to view. More so, the Wet n’ Wild section has water rides for the more adventurous kiddies.
(4) Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Game Reserve
Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Park is one of the oldest game parks in Africa and is the only one in KwaZulu Natal where the Big 5 occurs. The park is renowned for its variety of animal and bird life and an extremely rich diversity of tree and plant communities. There is a range of activities visitors can do from self-guided walks, auto-trails, game drives as well as picnic sites. Viewing hides overlook pans and waterholes enabling visitors to see animals at close range. Pack your own picnic and enjoy your own feast at one of the many picnic spots, or enjoy a lovely meal at the Hilltop restaurant.
Enjoy the many adventures that Dash Apartments brings.
